Coolum and North Shore Coast Care, in partnership with University of the Sunshine Coast and Organisation of Sunshine Coast Associations of Residents, is hosting a free, community forum at University of the Sunshine Coast on Saturday 13 May 2017, check-in from 8.45 for 9 am start. Morning tea and a light lunch are provided.
Specks of Sand – Community, Science and Decision-making is a forum to provide factual information to assist the Sunshine Coast community to understand the Maroochy River, estuary and floodplain, and adjacent coastal processes. Expert speakers from Universities, Government and the community will highlight the significance of the Maroochy River in historical and cultural terms, its interaction with coastal processes, and its importance to local communities and tourism, including its ecological, economic, scenic and recreational value.
